Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. She was hired by ESPN in 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since the time she turned nine. The ability that helped her get her first job as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. In Miami, she worked with the producers of National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was employed as a reporter by the CBS station as the sports reporter. Then, in 2009 the news reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drug trafficking and immigration from both sides of the Mexico-Texas Border, she worked as reporter for news on the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm. She was as a reporter for news with a news anchor in English for 9 pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning back to KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. Also, she was a substitute for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate and she assumed other duties. She also wrote articles for The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Additionally, she was host of her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was a host of sports for the morning program of Despierta America Deportes. As a sports anchor she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) as well as Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports program). Antonietta's parents hail native to Veracruz Mexico. The family were moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. Also, she has a younger sibling. She is the older sister. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. In the summer of 2006, she spent an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she wanted her future to look like, traveled to Mount Union University to determine what she could get out of the college. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the major that she desired. After completing her high school education, she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU, of which she is a member. They had a very close friendship. He encouraged her to believe in herself and his enthusiasm for journalism deeply affected her. She in turn, strived to live up to his expectations and never let him down.
